WHO IS THIS GUY?
PHASE 1: THE NEWSROOM
KUSA Denver. My origin story. An Emmy.
I was the youngest person in the newsroom. I made my mark by helping veteran TV journalists tell their stories online. Most of them had never touched a website.
I left with an Emmy and a working theory: find smart people trying to do something they've never done, and help them use what they already know to get there.
I've never left the pace of the newsroom behind.
PHASE 2: WIEDEN+KENNEDY
Fifteen years of finding new territory for the most interesting brands on earth.
I spent 15 years at Wieden+Kennedy Portland, and none of them looked like the one before. I started in digital strategy during the Old Spice era and moved to brand strategy for P&G's Olympics campaign. Then Nike — where I became Interactive CD working on World Cups, Olympics, Kobe, LeBron, KD and everything in between. Then I ran W+K's creative technology group the Lodge, building for brands like Nike, Anki and Soylent. Finally I led the social studio Bodega, creating breakthrough work for DoorDash, Instagram and Samsung.
PHASE 3: WHAT'S NEXT
Now I'm independent. Same relentless curiosity with lots more flexibility. I'm experimenting with AI. I'm building small teams to take on the most interesting assignments.
I'm looking for partners who are more interested in writing a new playbook than they are in following an old one.
THE HARDWARE
THAT'S THE SHORT VERSION. THE LONG VERSION INVOLVES A WHITEBOARD AND PROBABLY COFFEE.
